Terrina Chrishell Stanse is an American actress. She is best known for her character Amanda Dillon in All My Children and Jordan Ridgeway on Days of Our Lives. Stause was raised in Draffenville (Kentucky). She was a student at Murray State University and received her B.A. in theatre in 2003. The name she was given, Chishell, was a portmanteau derived out of the peculiar circumstances of her birth. Her mother was in labor in Shell Station, and Chris her attendant assisted her birth the baby. However, in her book Strause denies the gossip on her birth. She revealed that her mother's problems were with her car and pulled to the station. She went into pre-labor while waiting at the station and the attendant assisted her in getting to the hospital. Strause was born in the hospital. Her mother separated from her biological father, who was half Japanese and half Spanish before she realized she was expecting. Jeff is her stepfather. Chrishell Strause missed a full year of middle school because she was confined in a tent. Strause remembers washing her hair in a river using food stamps, and concealing her identity from her classmates. When she was 10, her parents "struggled with addictions and mental health." Strause then was a member of the Worldwide Church of God. Strause describes Strause as a confident, self-righteous woman who did not have any steady employment.
